Is Your Chimney Crown Sealed?

Chimney Crown

  • Cracked chimney crown (concrete masonry cap)
  • Repair with crown sealant as needed

Chimney Flashing & Waterproofing

Flashing is the material at the base of chimneys, stacks and vents. This material is designed to waterproof the juncture where the roof is penetrated.

Caulking around flashing is not a proper water repellent. We recommend FlashSeal. It is a long-lasting flashing repair product designed to stop leaks from faulty or deteriorated flashing around chimneys, stacks and vents. This liquid plastic is integrated with a fiberglass mesh fabric for added strength and flexibility. When professionally installed this product is warranted for 7 years.

Annual Cleaning & Inspection Of All Chimneys

National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) Standard 211 requires that all chimneys be inspected and/or cleaned every 12 months. In addition, the National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG) and manufacturers of chimney related products also recommend chimneys be cleaned and/or inspected annually. Finally, regular cleaning of your chimney will reduce the build up of chimney dirt and avoid potential odor problems.

Oil Furnace Owners

Oil supply companies clean your oil furnace, but do not clean your chimney. Be sure to have your chimney cleaned and/or inspected every 12 months.

Foundation & Roof Repair Problems

Many of these problems are due to overflow from clogged gutters. Keep leaves out of your gutters with LeafProof Gutter Guards. These gutter guards fit easily over your existing gutters so costs are minimized. There's no cleaning of screens or other maintenance to worry about. You install them and forget about them.

Do You Have High Energy Costs?

Are your energy costs high? Save up to $200 per year by installing a top sealing damper for your fireplace. In addition to saving energy, this damper keeps rain and pests from entering your fireplace.
